LINX has welcomed Angani Ltd to its LINX Nairobi interconnection hub, strengthening regional internet peering and supporting faster, more resilient digital connectivity across Kenya and East Africa.
Angani, one of East Africa’s leading cloud service providers, now peers at both LINX Nairobi and LINX Mombasa, enabling internet traffic to remain closer to end users. The approach reduces reliance on international transit routes, lowers latency and improves the performance of locally hosted applications, cloud services and digital content.
The announcement comes as internet usage, cloud adoption and demand for local content continue to grow across the region. LINX says traffic across its Kenyan internet exchange points has increased twenty-fold over the past year, reaching peak volumes of more than 330Gbps, highlighting the rising demand for regional interconnection.
The development reflects the growing importance of local peering infrastructure in supporting East Africa’s digital economy, improving network resilience and delivering faster, more reliable online experiences for businesses and consumers.
