Microsoft Appoints Angela Nganga as Country Lead for East Africa
Microsoft has appointed Angela Nganga as its Country Lead for East Africa, where she will lead the company’s engagement with governments, enterprises, startups and other stakeholders across Kenya and the wider region.
Nganga brings more than 20 years of professional experience and has been part of Microsoft’s Middle East and Africa leadership team since joining the company in 2012.
She most recently served as Regional Director of Customer Success for East and West Africa, where she was responsible for supporting customer outcomes and strategic engagement across the region.
Throughout her career at Microsoft, Nganga has also held senior positions including Director of Corporate Affairs for the Middle East and Africa and Education Industry Director for Africa. Her work has covered digital transformation, customer success, education technology and strategic stakeholder engagement.
Before joining Microsoft, she held senior corporate affairs and public policy roles at Telkom Kenya and AAR Health Services Ltd.
In her new position, Nganga said her priority will be to work closely with governments, enterprises and startups to build AI capabilities and develop solutions that address local challenges.
She highlighted the importance of enabling East African businesses to participate more actively in the AI economy, rather than limiting the region’s role to consuming technologies developed elsewhere.
The appointment comes as countries across East Africa accelerate digital transformation and explore how artificial intelligence can support economic growth, public services, business productivity and innovation.
With governments and businesses increasingly investing in AI skills, infrastructure and applications, Microsoft’s expanded engagement in the region is expected to focus on strengthening local capabilities and supporting the development of solutions relevant to East African markets.
Nganga’s appointment therefore places her in a key role as Microsoft deepens its relationships with public and private-sector stakeholders and works to support the region’s growing participation in the global digital economy.
