Glovo has launched a new Shopping Assistant integration for ChatGPT and Claude, enabling users to discover products, compare prices and shop using natural conversations powered by generative AI.
The new feature marks a shift towards intent-based shopping, allowing customers to describe what they need instead of manually browsing categories or applying search filters. Whether looking for a last-minute gift within a specific budget or searching for everyday essentials, the AI assistant interprets the request, performs semantic search, validates the user’s location and curates relevant products from nearby retailers.
Once users connect their Glovo account to ChatGPT or Claude, they can have multi-turn conversations where the assistant remembers preferences such as budget and product requirements. The assistant then presents a visual carousel featuring up to five recommended products, complete with images, pricing, store information and customer ratings. Users can then select their preferred item and continue to the Glovo app to complete payment and checkout.
Glovo is initially focusing on grocery and retail categories, reflecting the growing trend of consumers using AI platforms for product discovery before making purchasing decisions. The company believes conversational AI will increasingly become the starting point for online shopping as search behaviour evolves beyond traditional keyword-based browsing.
According to Chief Technology Officer Shiro Theuri, the integration aligns with Glovo’s strategy of meeting customers on the digital platforms they already use.
Founded in Barcelona in 2015, Glovo operates its multi-category delivery platform across 22 countries in Europe, Central Asia and Africa, connecting customers with restaurants, supermarkets, grocery stores and retail businesses through its on-demand commerce platform.
The launch positions Glovo among the early companies embracing AI-native commerce, where conversational assistants become a gateway for discovering and purchasing products.
