Bolt Introduces AI-Powered Ride Booking Through ChatGpT

Bolt has expanded access to its ride-hailing platform by integrating its services with ChatGPT, allowing users to plan and initiate ride bookings through conversational AI before completing the trip within the Bolt app.

The integration makes Bolt one of the first ride-hailing platforms to connect directly with ChatGPT, enabling users to request rides naturally while planning journeys, receiving fare estimates, comparing routes, viewing estimated driver arrival times and selecting convenient pickup locations without leaving the ChatGPT interface.

Once users decide to proceed, their trip details are transferred to the Bolt app, where bookings are confirmed and payments are completed. The feature has been rolled out across all Bolt markets globally, with the company indicating that direct in-chat payments are planned for a future update.

According to Bolt, users must first connect their Bolt account through ChatGPT before accessing the service. The company said the integration reflects changing consumer behaviour, as artificial intelligence increasingly becomes the starting point for planning travel and everyday activities.

Industry research also points to growing adoption of AI in travel planning. According to Accenture’s Consumer Pulse Research 2025, 80% of travellers surveyed use AI tools to help plan journeys, while more than half said they would be willing to allow AI to manage their travel arrangements entirely.

Bolt said the integration marks another step towards conversational mobility, enabling transport planning to happen naturally alongside broader trip planning, business travel or social activities through AI assistants.
