Ali Hussein Kassim, CEO of AHK Growth Partners, Chairman of the Association of FinTechs in Kenya and Vice President for Eastern Africa at the Africa FinTech Network, has launched The FinTech Safari, a new executive education programme designed to immerse business leaders, regulators, policymakers and investors in Africa’s rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between executive education and the realities of Africa’s digital finance sector by taking participants beyond traditional classrooms and into the institutions driving innovation. The programme will offer direct exposure to fintech companies, mobile money operators, payment infrastructure providers, banking-as-a-service platforms, banks, regulators and credit bureaus.
According to Kassim, Africa is not simply adopting the future of finance but actively building it. He noted that mobile money transactions across the continent reached US$2 trillion in 2025, while Sub-Saharan Africa now accounts for 1.1 billion mobile money accounts. Africa’s fintech industry is also projected to generate US$65 billion in annual revenue by 2030, highlighting the sector’s growing economic significance.
The FinTech Safari will be delivered in two phases. The first stage will take place in Nairobi through executive sessions hosted by leading fintech companies, financial institutions and regulatory bodies. Participants will then move to a Safari Camp retreat focused on leadership development, strategic discussions and peer engagement.
The programme has been structured into three tracks: Explorer for entrepreneurs and executives seeking fintech literacy, Practitioner for product leaders, founders, regulators and investors, and Navigator for C-suite executives, central bank governors, cabinet ministers and investment leaders. Founding partnership opportunities have also been opened across ten industry categories, with the first Explorer cohort expected to begin later this year and the inaugural Practitioner and Navigator programmes scheduled for the first half of 2027.
