Kenya is exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the telecommunications sector following discussions between government officials and a delegation from the Zhe Jiang Africa Service Centre.
Steve Isaboke EBS hosted the delegation, led by Director General Frank Xie Q, for discussions on potential cooperation in areas including connectivity, telecommunications infrastructure and innovation.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Zhe Jiang Africa Service Centre, the Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, and the State Department for ICT and the Digital Economy.
The engagement comes as Kenya continues to position digital infrastructure and connectivity as key drivers of economic transformation. Government officials said partnerships in the sector could support infrastructure development, encourage innovation and expand access to digital services.
Isaboke said Kenya welcomes partnerships that contribute to the expansion of its digital economy and support the country’s ambition of becoming a leading digital hub in Africa.
