Kenya has opened applications for a new Artificial Intelligence Accelerator Programme focused on identifying and supporting AI solutions capable of improving public service delivery and advancing the country’s green transition.
The programme is targeting public institutions, startups and innovators, as well as universities and research institutions developing high-potential AI use cases with a clear pathway towards real-world implementation and measurable impact.
The call is being highlighted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), alongside the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, Konza Technopolis, the Regional Centre of Competence for Digital and AI Skilling in the Public Sector and timbuktoo.
The initiative is designed to help move promising AI applications from development and experimentation towards practical deployment. By focusing on public-sector challenges and green transition priorities, the programme aims to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can contribute to more efficient services and sustainable development.
The accelerator comes as Kenya continues to strengthen its AI ecosystem and explore applications of emerging technologies across government, innovation and economic development.
