Safaricom has partnered with Kenya’s Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for a three-day training focused on cybercrime, financial technology (FinTech), digital evidence and emerging technologies.
The engagement brings together technical and prosecutorial expertise to strengthen understanding of Kenya’s evolving digital environment and the changing nature of technology-related crime.
According to Safaricom, the training provides an avenue for practical knowledge exchange between technology and justice stakeholders, particularly as digital technologies continue to influence how crimes are committed, investigated and prosecuted.
The programme is also aimed at strengthening the ability of justice-sector stakeholders to understand and handle digital evidence while responding to emerging forms of cybercrime.
Safaricom said the changing digital landscape requires corresponding improvements in the way cybercrime is understood, investigated and prosecuted.
The partnership further seeks to deepen collaboration between the technology and justice sectors and build the specialised capabilities required to address increasingly complex digital threats.
