Absa Bank Kenya has launched Absa Next, a digital finance platform that brings banking, savings, investments and lifestyle services together within a single ecosystem.
The platform is available to both Absa customers and non-customers, offering users a digital-first experience designed to give them greater control over their finances.
Absa Next allows users to save and invest individually or as groups, with the bank stating that savings rates can reach up to 7%, while investment returns can reach up to 16%.
The platform provides a single dashboard for managing personal and business finances, supports linking Absa and non-Absa Visa cards, and enables users to split expenses with family and friends.
Absa Next also incorporates alternative financial assessment capabilities, using a broader range of financial behaviours and data points to support users’ financial needs. Absa Bank Kenya CEO Yusuf Omari said the platform was developed in response to changing consumer expectations, while Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, Absa Group Chief Executive for Personal and Private Banking, said Kenya’s financial innovation ecosystem made the country a suitable market for the launch.
