SanlamAllianz Kenya PLC has appointed Jacqueline Karasha as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November 2026. She will succeed Dr. Nyamemba Patrick Tumbo EBS, who is set to retire on 31 October after more than eight years leading the insurer.
Dr. Tumbo was appointed CEO in August 2018 and oversaw several key developments during his tenure, including the company’s KSh 2.50 billion rights issue, debt restructuring, financial recovery and integration into the Sanlam-Allianz partnership. He brings more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Karasha brings over 17 years of industry experience and currently heads Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance, a subsidiary holding KSh 38.47 billion in assets. The group plans to absorb the life insurance business into its Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed parent company.
The leadership transition comes as SanlamAllianz Kenya continues to align its operations within the wider group structure. Karasha’s appointment places an experienced insurance executive at the helm as the company moves into its next phase.
