Bolt has introduced three new ride categories in Kenya: Priority, Wait and Save, and Ride by Hour, giving customers more flexibility to balance fares, waiting times and convenience when booking rides.
The new options are designed to accommodate different travel needs, allowing passengers to choose services based on their budgets, schedules and journey requirements.
Priority offers faster driver matching for customers willing to pay a premium for quicker pick-ups. Wait and Save provides lower fares for passengers who are comfortable waiting longer for a driver.
Ride by Hour allows customers to book a vehicle for one or two hours at a fixed hourly rate. The option is designed for errands, shopping, business visits and journeys involving multiple stops.
Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager, Rides, East Africa, said the new categories give customers greater control over their travel choices while creating more opportunities for drivers to access trips, reduce idle time and earn through the platform.
Customers can access the three categories directly through the Bolt application and select the option that best matches their travel preferences.
The introduction reflects Bolt’s efforts to expand its ride-hailing services by offering more flexible transportation options for customers and additional earning opportunities for drivers in Kenya.
