Absa Kenya and Google Empower 3,000 SMEs Nationwide

Absa Bank Kenya has announced a strategic partnership with Google’s Hustle Academy aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Kenya through digital skills development, financial literacy, and business growth support. Over the next 12 months, the initiative is expected to impact 3,000 SMEs, reinforcing the critical role entrepreneurship plays in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation across the country.

The programme has already gained significant momentum, with three cohorts completed and more than 600 entrepreneurs trained. Through Google Hustle Academy’s free virtual boot camps, participants receive practical training designed to help them navigate today’s increasingly digital business environment. The curriculum focuses on AI adoption, digital transformation, business growth strategies, and the effective use of digital tools to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness.

As businesses continue to embrace technology, the partnership seeks to equip entrepreneurs with the skills needed to formalize, scale, and future-proof their enterprises. By connecting SMEs with Google’s ecosystem of digital tools and platforms, the initiative aims to enhance business visibility, improve customer engagement, and unlock new growth opportunities in Kenya’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

Absa Bank Kenya will complement the digital training with financial expertise, mentorship, and tailored banking solutions designed specifically for SMEs. Entrepreneurs participating in the programme will gain access to credit facilities, cash flow management solutions, market linkages, and advisory support that can help strengthen business resilience, improve financial management, and accelerate sustainable growth.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by both organizations to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and support Africa’s digital transformation journey. By combining Google’s expertise in technology and AI with Absa’s financial capabilities, the initiative is creating a powerful platform for business development, innovation, and long-term economic inclusion. As digital adoption continues to reshape industries, programmes such as this will play an increasingly important role in helping SMEs remain competitive and seize new opportunities.
