California-based electric vehicle startup Bingo has officially entered the Kenyan market with the launch of its E2 electric vehicle, targeting ride-hailing drivers and last-mile delivery operators as demand for sustainable mobility solutions continues to grow.
The Bingo E2 features a dual-battery system capable of delivering a driving range of up to 440 kilometres. The company said the vehicle will be supported by a network of battery-swapping stations and DC fast chargers to reduce charging downtime and improve operational efficiency for commercial drivers.
Bingo also announced plans to begin local vehicle assembly in Nairobi from December 2026, with an initial production target of 100 units.
According to co-founder Christian Scheder, the company aims to sell 1,500 vehicles during 2027 and have 10,000 Bingo electric vehicles operating on Kenyan roads by the end of 2028, supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
The expansion reflects growing investment in Kenya’s electric mobility sector, where manufacturers are increasingly focusing on locally assembled vehicles, charging infrastructure and solutions tailored to commercial transport operators.
