KCB Foundation, in partnership with KCB Bank Kenya and Heifer International Kenya, has launched the Farmer Visibility (FaVi) initiative, a nine-month programme designed to digitally empower 30,000 smallholder dairy farmers across Kenya through improved financial inclusion, digital identities and greater market access.
The initiative seeks to create a more connected dairy ecosystem by providing participating farmers with digital identities that improve their visibility within formal agricultural value chains. The programme is expected to help farmers build stronger transaction histories, access financial services more easily and integrate into formal markets.
According to KCB Foundation, the initiative combines digital innovation, financial inclusion and agricultural support to strengthen farmer resilience, improve productivity and increase household incomes.
The programme will be implemented through 60 dairy cooperatives and farmer producer organisations across Kenya’s Central, Rift Valley and Western regions. It will focus on strengthening financial literacy, digitising farmer transactions, improving dairy productivity and expanding access to savings, credit, insurance and input financing.
The Farmer Visibility initiative reflects the partners’ shared commitment to leveraging technology and financial services to build a more inclusive, resilient and productive dairy sector while supporting the long-term growth of Kenya’s agricultural economy
