Gulf Hotels Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Silva Gigiri Ltd to develop the USD 30 million Silva Gigiri Hotel & Residence in Nairobi, marking the group’s second hotel management contract in East Africa after Ocean Paradise Resort in Zanzibar.
Located on United Nations Crescent in Gigiri, the upper-upscale mixed-use development is planned to feature approximately 250 units, including hotel rooms, studios, one- and two-bedroom residences and penthouses. The project will also include fine dining venues, luxury spa and wellness facilities, executive co-working spaces and a premium conference centre designed for diplomatic, corporate and MICE events.
Its strategic location near the United Nations Office at Nairobi, embassies and international organizations is expected to position the property to serve diplomats, expatriates, corporate executives and international travellers.
Following the MOU, Gulf Hotels Group and Silva Gigiri Ltd will progress towards securing affiliation with a globally recognized hospitality brand while finalizing the definitive hotel management and franchise agreements.
Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2026, with a soft opening targeted for 2028. The project will also pursue LEED certification through eco-efficient construction and design practices, aligning with Kenya’s Vision 2030 objectives for sustainable urban development.
For Gulf Hotels Group, the development forms part of its 2026–2030 growth strategy focused on expanding third-party hotel management operations across high-growth markets in Africa and the Indian Ocean.
