Kenya’s Technopolis Development Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Guodong Network Communications Group to accelerate the development of next-generation digital infrastructure at Konza Technopolis.
The agreement, signed by Technopolis Development Authority CEO John Paul Okwiri and Guodong Network Communications Group Chairman and President Jie Lue, establishes a framework for cooperation on the planning, investment, financing, design, development and maintenance of advanced digital infrastructure.
The partnership will focus on cloud computing, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, alongside smart-city technologies intended to support sustainable urban development.
The two organisations will also explore knowledge transfer and local capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening technical expertise and developing capabilities within Kenya’s digital ecosystem.
The MoU further provides for discussions around innovative investment and financing models that could support future digital infrastructure projects at Konza Technopolis.
The partnership is expected to contribute to Kenya’s smart-city ambitions while strengthening Konza Technopolis’ position as a hub for digital transformation, innovation and technology-driven economic development.
