The inaugural Inuka Tech Fellowship cohort has completed its programme in Kenya, with organisers highlighting the need for stronger pathways for women entering the technology sector.
Run by KPC Foundation and Power Learn Project (PLP), the fellowship brought together 30 fellows selected from more than 1,000 applicants, with women accounting for half of the cohort. The completion ceremony was held on 25 September 2026 at PLP’s offices in Nairobi under the theme “Her Data, Her Future.”
The programme combined technical training with mentorship, practical experience and industry exposure. Fellows received training in Python, machine learning, dashboard development and data storytelling, alongside real-world simulations designed to prepare them for technology careers.
The fellowship prepares participants for roles including Operational Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst and Predictive Analytics Engineer, with additional career opportunities supported through PLP’s Talent Hub.
The organisers said the programme deliberately included women in the cohort to support greater participation in technology. Fellows also took part in career planning, mentorship sessions and discussions with women already working in the sector, helping connect academic learning with workplace experience.
