Dan Kwach has returned to Kenya and rejoined Africa Data Centres (ADC), taking up a new role as Executive for AI Data Centres following a brief stint in Madagascar.
Kwach previously served as Africa Data Centres’ Eastern Africa Executive before leaving the organisation after 19 years to pursue an opportunity outside the Cassava Technologies group. He later joined StellarIX in Madagascar as Deputy CEO.
Confirming his return, Kwach said he was pleased to be back home and would join the Cassava Technologies AI team under Africa Data Centres. His new mandate will focus on building and operating data centre infrastructure designed to support the growing demands of artificial intelligence.
AI workloads are placing new demands on data centre infrastructure, particularly around computing density, power and cooling. Kwach’s new role comes as African data centre operators look to prepare infrastructure for the rapid growth of AI.
Kwach also highlighted the need for Africa to play a stronger role in shaping its AI future, while ensuring technology development contributes to enterprise growth, sustainability, security, resilience, trade, job creation and productivity.
His return marks a new chapter at Africa Data Centres as the company positions its infrastructure to support emerging AI workloads and the continent’s broader digital transformation.
