Samsung has been ranked among Kenya’s three strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands East Africa rankings, emerging as the country’s leading electronics brand and the highest-ranked foreign brand overall.
The company recorded a Superbrands score of 89.622, placing it among the most highly regarded brands across different sectors in Kenya. The ranking evaluates consumer perceptions of quality, reliability and distinction, reflecting how consistently brands meet customer expectations.
Conducted by Kantar across 112 categories, the research assessed Kenyan consumers’ perceptions of established brands. The recognition reflects consumer confidence in Samsung and its products, as well as the company’s position in the country’s technology market.
Nyawira Muraguri, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the ranking was significant because it was based directly on consumer feedback. She noted that maintaining a strong brand reputation requires consistent product quality, reliable customer experiences and the ability to respond to changing consumer needs.
Muraguri added that Kenya remains important to Samsung’s regional ambitions, with the company continuing to focus on bringing technology and innovation closer to consumers while supporting the country’s digital development.
The findings also highlight the growing importance of consumer trust in purchasing decisions. According to the Kantar research, 86 per cent of surveyed consumers are likely to purchase products or services carrying the Superbrands seal, while 84 per cent said the recognition would increase their trust in a brand.
Additionally, 81 per cent of respondents believe the seal helps brands distinguish themselves from competitors.
The results point to the importance of consistent quality, reliability and clear value in shaping consumer preferences beyond brand awareness and visibility.
Samsung said it continues to develop products and experiences across mobile devices, televisions, home appliances and connected technology to respond to changing lifestyles and improve convenience.
As Kenya’s digital economy develops, the company remains focused on contributing through innovation, connectivity and technology designed to support everyday consumer needs.
